How We Got Here

After years of creating programs to assist with homelessness, OC United and the city of Fullerton initiated a task force to find solutions to the homeless crisis. The task force discovered that homelessness cannot be solved with programs, rather the solution required that homelessness prevention through affordable housing was the best solution. A small group of pastors and community leaders gathered and met with Making Housing and Community Happen in Pasadena to learn more how to create a sustainable solution.

In 2023, the group sponsored a one-day seminar bringing key leaders from Southern California to discuss the causes of homelessness and the need for affordable housing. At the end of the seminar, the attendees decided to gather regularly to help advocate for affordable housing. This group is now called Fullerton Housing Alliance.
